As mentioned in a previous post, our building has what I like to call an "old timey" elevator which provided somewhat of a challenge in the moving process. I took some pictures so that you could get a better idea of what it is like:

It looks like another component of "old timey" is that the door opening is narrow?

yes its very narrow, even when fully opened, although opening it fully can sometimes be a chore, so we slide in sideways occasionally!
